Better get to it

I have been meaning to blog for quite some time now and I had all kinds of fun things to blog about and now I can't remember any of them, go figure! Last weekend we moved in with my mom. Our lease was up on our house and we knew that we wouldn't be there for a full year so we decided to stay with my mom until we make the move to Utah. AND.... we can save some money in the process. So we are all settled and enjoying spending lots of time with grandma and papa. Preston is really getting to know his new surroundings, what I like to call getting into trouble. For instance the other day he kept bringing me all of the bars of soap from all of the bathrooms, and then yesterday would not give up his tube of toothpaste. He has a thing with bathrooms.
We took Preston to get his 2-year pictures taken, and if I can figure it out I will get them posted on here. Anyways he was so adorable! He kept trying to stick his tounge out and so I would push it back in. The lady taking his picture thought he was super cute and kept telling him that, so of course he kept sticking his tounge out and then laughing about it. Then he would say "I silly, I silly, HA HA!" It was rather funny. He is very aware of the things he does now and is talking REALLY well. Just a couple of minutes ago I sent him to get a diaper while I grabbed some clothes for today and as I came around the corner he jumped and said, "I scared, I scared" Apparently I had scared him. But of course he laughed. So here he is in one of his favorite spots, the bathroom! Now if we could just get him to use that potty.

I was looking through my mom's pictures on her camera and I found a few from the very end of my pregnancy, I am so glad that she took these. I ushually hide from the camera when I am pregnant but I knew that I shouldn't and that I would regret it later, but then I didn't get any of me so I was glad to find these. HOLY COW HUH? I am glad to say that I have now lost my baby weight and am starting my pilates today. Josh and I are going to start running together in the mornings if i can ever get Aubrey on a schedule to make sure that she stays asleep so that my mom won't have to worry about her.

We had parent teacher conferences last week and found out how wonderful our kiddos are :) I think that this was the first time I wasn't nervous about going to talk to their teachers. I guess I was just afraid of what they would say, but they are always better for their teachers than they are at home. Ethan just got tested for the gifted and talented program but we haven't got the results back yet. His teacher did say that she had heard that he had done really well on the IQ test. I can't wait to see his results, that boy amazes Josh and I everyday. He is really bright and we are very VERY grateful for the all day every day kindergarden program here in Billings. Kendra is also way ahead when it comes to her reading and math. I hope that they can keep it up, they both work very hard. Kendra loves to read and is really starting to read for the enjoyment of the story and not just because she is excited that she CAN read. It has been fun to see the change in her motivation come and watch her realize that reading a story is much more fun than watching a movie or TV show. Ethan just soaks everything up and when you introduce a new concept to him he grasps it so quickly. For example I was explaining multiplication to Kendra a couple of months ago and after giving her the basics I started to quiz her and Ethan started blurting out the answers before Kendra could even get them out. He LOVES it, and he really loves math.

Aubrey is doing well and is growing every day. I can't believe how big she is getting, I am not ready for this. She is already getting close to two months old and before we know it I will be feeding her cereal and then baby food and I am not a fan of teaching babies how to eat solids, I would be happing nursing exclusively for the first year :) But she is a good baby and has had a few fussy evenings but for the most part it happy. She is learning how to smile and is starting to coo a lot. You just can't beat those sweet sounds.

Hey I didn't know you guys had decided to move to Utah! Is Josh going to school there?
Living with family can be hard(although with your own parents I don't think it's THAT hard!), but saving up the money will be a GREAT blessing to you guys. That was probably the BEST outcome of when we lived with family. We saved a ton of money and we made so much progress paying off debt and even getting an emergency fund set aside.
Your kids sound so smart! You must teach them well!
