Happy Birthday Baby!

Well first off I can figure out why it is underlining everything I write. VERY annoying. But anyways, we finally celebrated Aubrey's first birthday last Sunday. We have put it off for a while in order to try and coordinated schedules but finally just called all of the g-mas and g-pas at the last minute and everyone was able to come for some yummy cake and ice cream. Aubrey did really well opening up her presents and devoured her cake. I pretty much took all of the frosting off of it except for a thin layer all of the way around it. So I didn't feel too bad letting her dig into it, and she definitely did! Here are the remnants of Aubrey's cake.
And the look of pure excitement she had while enjoying the cake!
I had kept Aubrey's presents in my closet for quite some time and hadn't done much to hide them so she had played with them (at least as much as she could with them mostly in a box) quite a few times. But she was still just as excited when she finally ripped wrapping paper off of them.I have been feeling crafty lately and this is a mini-bag that I just finished. I absolutely love it and can't wait to add it to my etsy shop. I am in the process of clearancing out the bags that are listed now so that I can list all of my new stuff, I am so excited to sew some of my new fabric. And I am sure that means that I will be making myself a new bag as well!

Aubrey is such an eater, on Sunday I made my very first roast in my crock pot. I know, I know it took me long enough. So the roast tasted really good but it was very dry. I did manage to make some really yummy gravy. And gravy is one of my favorites if you couldn't tell by my waistline, so it was a success overall, especially in Aubrey's book.
Here is another mini-bag that I recently finish along with Aubrey sporting her new leg warmers that her Aunt made her for her birthday. THANKS AMY! Aubrey is a girly girl already and loves bags!
Aubrey has recently mastered the art of pointing. She is always pointing and jabbering. She also recently started folding her arms for prayer, it melts my heart!
Here is Aubrey with her new baby dolls that she got for her birthday. She got a set of twins and is already loving on them all of the time. She sleeps with them, eats with them, and carries them around all day. SHE LOVES DOLLS. She seems so young to me to have such a love for dolls already, so I had to go to the source on all things little girl MY MOM. She said that Julie was the same way, she always loved dolls. So that made me feel good because I remember Julie playing with dolls until she was quite old and she has always LOVED children and is about finished with her Elementary Ed degree.
Preston recently decorated a wall in my bedroom for me.
And then decorated his legs to match. (It was dry erase marker thank goodness!)
I finally finished the quilt I started before Aubrey was ever born. All that I had left was the binding, but it had been folded up and had been in my way for far too long, so I finally just finished it and in true Aubrey fashion she giggled and wrapped herself up in it. Such a happy girl!
We have been doing a lot of swimming lately. Kendra and Ethan have been taking swimming lessons for the last four weeks down at the YMCA and are loving it! Kendra told me that she is going to be a professional swimmer. She really is doing well and Ethan has warmed up to it, it took him a little while. Next month Preston will be joining them in the pool and I will be found relaxing on the side. Too bad it is indoors and even more that summer isn't here yet.
I know that this has mostly been a jumble of pictures but I leave you with my favorite one. I don't want my little girl to grow up! I am enjoying every single day with her and cherish her special spirit. I am so blessed to have FOUR wonderful children and they all teach me something every single day!

Here's a tip for your roast (it took me years to figure it out and it's worked like a charm since--thanks to my mother-in-law) but I always put my roast in before going to bed the night before on low (frozen or thawed; it doesn't matter) and I cook it all the way until dinner the next day. Be sure to add some salt or some onion seasoning for flavor and it will fall apart every time. My mother-in-law even says you can take the least-expensive meats and they will turn out great using this method; I've tried it and it works. Best of luck!
