I never thought that I would turn into one of those bloggers that only gets around to posting once a month. WELL I AM! Just a little on the crazy busy side around these parts.
Preston has joined Kendra and Ethan in the pool but doesn't like to get his face wet. He is scared to do just about anything that the teacher wants him to do and mostly just holds on to the side and blows bubbles. Yesterday he didn't want to get in the pool at all and I had to tell him that if he didn't get in then he had to go with Aubrey to child watch (the childcare center that the Y provides for it's members.) Well that did the trick and he went right over to Miss Lena and got in. Kendra has graduated to a guppy and Ethan is very close. Next month we will be doing it all again, but I think that Preston is going to have to wait until he has a summer of swimming with mom under his belt. I am excited for Kendra and Ethan to use their newly acquired swimming at Rose park this summer. Should be lots of fun for both them and me :)
Preston has been saying the funniest things lately! For a while he was on the "best friend" mode. Often tell me that I was his best friend. When he would get upset he would try and pull the "best friend" card on me and I am not going to deny that it worked once or twice. He even starting using it when it came to other things. For instance he wanted to watch a movie and I wouldn't let him and he said, "but it's my best movie mom!" It was quite cute but it didn't do the trick that time. He has also been telling me that "I'm having a hard time, mom" when something is going quite right. The things that he comes up with sometimes! I know that he just used a new one on me a few minutes ago but I can't remember it. I will have to wait for him to use it a few more times.
Aubrey is climbing! BOY OH BOY! She loves to climb on a chair or table or ANYTHING and just sit. When she accomplishes whatever it was that she set out to climb she just beams and is so proud. She also waits for me to see what she has done and once I acknowledge it she is on to the next thing. She is also give TONS of hugs. This is a new development for her and she has never been to cuddly but lately she wraps her little arms around your neck and softly pats your back. Then she pulls away and gives you kiss. I love that she is being cuddly! She is talking a little more and has added "this" to her pointing. She definitely gets her point across and communicates rather effectively.
Kendra and Ethan are both loving swimming. It has surprised me that they haven't grown tired of it yet. They have probably gotten more excited as time has gone which is amazing to me. Basketball is a different story. They are definitely ready to be done with basketball. Kendra is so done that they she is threatening not to play next year, and when you are projected to be 6'1" then not playing basketball isn't really an option :) Ethan just wants his Saturdays back but doesn't mind the basketball itself. I am also extremely ready for basketball to be done. I had no idea that it would last so stinkin long! They have learned a lot and have drastically improved over the season. Now Ethan is constantly dribbling and shooting the ball around the house.
I have been busy with school. I only have about 5 weeks left in the semester and have really enjoyed my classes. I am doing very well which helps keep the stress stay at bay. I have found a new passion and that is Anatomy and Physiology. I feel like a human sponge as I sit through my lectures. I find everything so interesting and I just want more! I look forward to the lectures and then the lab really helps to be able to clarify all of the information. It is hard for me to understand how anyone would struggle with the class, but I have to remind myself that I have had more than the average amount of math and science classes to help me. Many people may not know this but when I first enrolled in college I was a pre-med major. I wanted to be a doctor so bad! But I was very young, newly married, and had a new baby. Josh and I knew that we had started our family and we weren't going to stretch out the distance between our children. I also knew that I wasn't willing to make the kind of sacrifices that medical school would have demanded of me. So I changed my major. Last week Josh and I talked about medical school again. I will be interesting to see where I exactly end up in my schooling but I definitely know that I will love every minute of it. Well ok, not EVERY minute of it.
Josh is busy working. Although he is looking forward to a much less busy and chaotic summer than last year. He just works Friday and Saturdays at the Roadhouse now and is doing really well at Warren Transport. He has been traveling quite a bit which is definitely not fun but it allows him to actually get his homework done since he has nothing better to do in his hotel room.
So there you have it, that is what we have been up to lately. Just trying to survive and have as much fun as we can in the process.
