The dentist
So after ten years I finally got my wisdom teeth pulled yesterday. In high school I was suppossed to get them pulled and then my parents were switching insurance and jobs and then pretty soon I was pregnant and married. After that we were the ones switching insurance and jobs and not having any money. Well we finally bit the bullet and I got them pulled. I did it yesterday because of the holiday weekend so that I would have more time to recouperate without missing work. They put me under and that had to be the greatest thing ever. Even the IV didn't hurt! Every time I have a baby they just about kill my arm and hands trying to get an IV in me. Well apparently the needle was MUCH smaller and I seriously didn't even know that she had put it in. I had a hard time waking up after they were done and I was dizzy most of the day yesterday but the teeth themselves came right out without any problems and I feel pretty good. I thought since we had put this off for so long that they would be bad, but they wern't at all, what a relief! My mom came over last night while Josh worked and that was wonderful. Just having her here helped me a lot and she even cooked, did the dishes, and started laundry for me, I LOVE THAT! Thanks mom! I don't know if it was because Grandma Card was over but the kids were going CRAZY. I don't think I had seen them like that in a long time, but it could also be because of the rain. It has been raining here for about four days and it is suppossed to keep raining for about three more or so. I LOVE IT!!! It is coming at the perfect time of the year too. So we will be busy spending our holiday weekend doing NOTHING and hopefully healing fast!

We have created a monster!!!
Kendra is playing her third season of soccer and she loves it. To start the season she had never scored a goal. Josh gets really worked up about her playing and I have to remind him that she is in FIRST grade for goodness sake!
Kendra is VERY VERY fast, I always dreamed that my kids would inherit their dad's speed and it seems like Kendra may have, YAH!!! Anyways, she is often the first one to the ball and she will kick it and get going and then slow down and let her teamates take the ball. When we asked her about this she said that her coach told her that one of them needed to stay back a little and the other one would kick the ball to the goal. Well, being the good listener that she is and seeing that her teamate was not staying back she was the one that was falling back. What a sweet girl huh? So Josh and I had a chat with her and I told her to imagine that she was going to kick the ball and run all of the way into the goalie net as fast as she could, almost like she was going to run the goalie over. Nice mom huh? I was just trying to instill a little aggressiveness into her. The next game she played better and didn't let up so quickly, but still no goal! So Finally I figured that she just needed one more push, so I decided to bribe her. I know that this sounds horrible, but I had tried everything else and I knew that she had it in her. I told her that we would take her to build a bear if she would score a goal and go after that ball. SHE WAS SO EXCITED!
So we went to the game and right away she was like a whole different little girl out there. She finally had just a hint of intensity. She missed her first attempt, but hey, she had an acutal kick at the goal. But then she got it! We were only a few minutes into the game, I was so excited that I had tears in my eyes. Pathetic I know! She was also excited and as she went to the sidelines I heard her say numerous times, "now I get to go to build a bear." We took her to build a bear right after and she got just a little bear, nothing big, but that was enough for her. The next game we told her that we would take her to get ice cream if she scored (we were trying to tone it down a little.) Well she played even better than the last time. She scored two goals and came VERY close on two others. I keep asking her about her goals and if she is happy that she is playing so good and helping her team win and getting better at soccer. She says yes to all of that, but not like I hoped.
Yesterday she brought home a pamphlet for a soccer camp and Josh says that she was so excited about it that she didn't want to talk about anything else all afternoon, WHAT HAVE I DONE!!!

Just a few Pictures
WOW, look at that hair, I wish mine looked like that!
Here is Josh enjoying a wonderful Sunday afternoon! He hates it when I take his Picture.
Kendra LOVES to jump on the trampoline. I don't think it will be long before she is doing flips and tricks like me.
Ethan is super cool!
Preston was actually laughing at Uncle Devin, who was standing behind me. Hey, whatever it takes right?
I had Josh take this so that I had a picture of Kendra's Hair-do. I found this on a web-stite and decided to try it out on Kendra. This picture doesn't show it very well, but it was super easy and stayed really well. She went to a b-day party on Saturday and her hairdo was the talk of the party. When I went and picked her up the moms were asking me tons of questions. I love that Kendra's hair is so long and we can do so much with it.

I Love Saturdays
We haven't done too much this week. Josh finished up his training and had his first night on the floor all by himself. It is exciting to think of all the great things that we are going to be able to do with the extra money! And it is really good for Josh to get out of the house and interact with adults on a regular basis. I honestly think that is going to be the best thing to come out of this job. I know that he seems like he is going to go crazy sometimes being home all day and night with the kids.
I titled this blog "I love Saturdays" for a reason. I know that most people love Saturdays and they get so much done or run errands. But I love Saturdays because I don't do ANYTHING. When I was A child my mom always made Saturday "Chore Day". I HATED IT!!! I would dred Saturday mornings, we always had to clean our rooms, the bathrooms, and then another room in the house or a special chore for the day. So now, as a grown up, I spend my Saturdays doing anything but chores. I ushually sleep in until about 8:00, which is AWESOME, if I can get Kendra to cooperate. And then we have a nice breakfast, if we want to go out then we will, but for the most part we just use it as a very lazy day, I play with the kids or make a special treat or dinner. But at the end of my Saturday I feel so refreshed and ready for another week. Sometimes we have those Saturdays where we are gone all day doing this or that and when I get home I am more tired than on any weeknight. I try and run my errands or clean the house on weeknights after the kids are asleep, I just seem to get so much more done this way and then I get to keep my Saturdays filled with NOTHING.

Tragedy
Tonight I learned that one of my friends was killed in a car accident. I am shocked, sad, mad and glad all at the same time. She was young, younger than me and I have known her for about 4 and a half years. She fell asleep at the wheel and hit the guardrail. Those of you that are from Billings that read this will know that there have been so many fatal accidents lately, but hearing about Lyndsey makes it all seem much more real
I worked with Lyndsey at the Roadhouse. She was an original employee like me so we had been together since day one, actually we had both worked at the Cracker Barrel before the Roadhouse but I didn't really know her well over there. Working with someone in a setting like the roadhouse is very intimate, you see a person's biggest faults, the best features, you see how they handle pressure in both positive and negative situations, often times your income can depend on your coworkers. She struggled with life and overcame A LOT of hurdles. For a long time she didn't know what she wanted to do with her life. She took a break from school at the same time I did, only she went back and finished. She was teaching at St. Labre and coaching too. She was so truely happy for once in her life. To hear that her life had been taken was a hard thing for me. I hadn't lost anyone really close to me like that before. Sure I have had grandparents pass away and an uncle and a few others, but for it to be someone that I interacted with on a daily basis for so many years, someone who I spoke with regularly about my goals, my thoughts, my passions it has been hard. I am going to the funeral tomorrow and I hope that it might bring a little more closure, but I just keep thinking that she was so young and had so much left that she wanted to do. I know that she is in a better place, a place were she can be ETERNALLY happy. I miss you Lyndsey and I will be thinking of you often, keep smiling.

Out of the Mouths of Babes
I just had to get on and blog about something that Ethan said tonight before I forget it. I'll start with a little bit of history. Potty training Ethan was pretty dificult, it took quite a while and he had issues with going number 2 before we ever started potty training him. We had been trying off and on since he turned two but he just was not physically ready. So we finally got him potty trained right after Preston was born, he was almost 3 1/2. The only thing that we struggled with was that he would hold his number 2 for days and days. He had been doing this for quite some time while he was in diapers and it was causing issues. My nephew had had severe problems with this same thing a few years earlier so I was very nervous. My sister, who is a nurse, suggested that I put him on some milk of magnesia for a week or so, just to get him all cleaned out. Well we did and it worked pretty good, but he kept holding it and starting the cylce over again. I know that I am sharing a little more than some of you may want to know, but this was a BIG deal in the wynia house a year ago. So anyways we obviously would make a big deal out of it every time Ethan went #2. Eventually he started to get the hang of it and would go more frequently.
What happened was that we would remind Ethan that he should try and go each day. Ethan isn't the greatest eater and (this is going to sound horrible, but I am just going to say it) we remind Ethan to go while we are at the dinner table. It was just a good time of the day when we were all quiet and together and so we would remember. Also, we found that Ethan ate his dinner best after he had "made some room." That is horrible I know!!!
Well tonight we were over at my mom's house to celebrate her birthday. I was sitting at the table with all of the children, feeding Preston and trying to make sure that Kendra and Ethan ate their dinner. Ethan leaned over and asked if he could try and go poop. I told him that was fine and so he ran upstairs and I finished feeding Preston and pretty soon I hear "I'm Done, I'm Done" being shouted from upstairs for the entire family to hear. At first it didn't register that it was my sweet little Ethan but then I remembered that he had gone upstairs to take care of business. I ran upstairs and got to the bathroom to help Ethan finish and as I am doing my parenting duty of wiping the bum Ethan informs me that "It was a big one" I have gotten used to this because if you remember we always made a big deal out of it in order to encourage him. But what he said next I don't think that I will ever forget. He then said, "Mom, I think that I lost 3 pounds!" I almost died, it was too funny to hear my little four year old make such a comment and I knew right away that this had to be his dad's doing, he had always made a bigger deal out of it than me. I went back downstairs before I actually started laughing so that I wouldn't encourage such talk.
I apologize for the crudeness that this post entails, but I just couldn't help it, he was so sincere that I just cracked up.
